SITUATED ABOUT a quarter of a mile from the monastery lies the Saint Andrew’s Abbey Youth Retreat Center, a facility which can accommodate up to 86 persons in two dormitories. Here hospitality is offered to more than three thousand young people annually, who come to Valyermo from parishes, schools, and universities throughout Southern California.
THE new chapel at the Youth Center is presently under construction, as can be seen from these pictures. Completion is expected by early summer, 2008. When finished it will enhance the spiritual experience of all those who come on retreat to this facility.
